The Russian / Georgian Conflict
NOTE: I had just read Beeyond Sight’s post regarding Russia’s Invasion
of Georgia and the subsequent clarification of what really happened in
a comparable event with Poland in WWII where Germany first invaded
Poland and then 16 days later Russia did as well yet Russia kept
Poland. In that invasion, the Soviet government announced that it was
acting to protect the Ukranians and Belarusians in the wake of the
Polish government’s collapse. Sounds a lot like a repeat of history
here…I left a comment there that I will share with you all below…
................................
It is easy for Russia to play the sympathies of various ethnic peoples
in order to achieve its ends. They know how to manipulate opinion
(psy-ops) and they know how to put their operatives in places all over
the world to influence that opinion. South Ossetia is no exception.
While there is some truth to what Krazno1 has said and that makes it
believable enough, it is not all there is to know about this. There is
much to be learned by taking a look at what's been going on for a while
now between Russia, Georgia, and Ukraine. The key here has been Georgia
and Ukraine has sought out NATO membership. Why? These folks know what
its like to live under the hammer and sickle. When given a chance, they
want something else. Let's not forget that. What about the people who live there? With due respect for their
opinions, there is an aspect we should not dismiss. There has been
considerable time elapse to allow "operatives" (Russian & Ossetian
Russian sympathizers) to stir up discontent and cause certain events to
happen which would require any government to act decisively in order to
keep order. If skillfully planned, these events would be designed to
alter public opinion and cause a population to choose something against
their best interests. We know how that works here in the US with the
media because we are more aware of it since we seem to still have
enough outlets for additional information which sheds a lot of light on
such deception.I do not like anyone to be oppressed so I do not think that Russia will
ease the Ossetian's situation at all. If Georgia was oppressing people,
then their removal by the Russians will end up betraying the South
Ossetians worse because they had hoped for better. This is not the
first time this has happened in history.Remember that Georgia has the most to lose by a conflict with Russia.
Russia has the most to gain and incur little harm to themselves. The
military & geographical considerations are impressive and would
allow for a military launching platform further south even to the
acquisition of both Armenia and Azerbaijan as well in order to link up
with Iran. Why would linking up with Iran be important? The nuclear connection.
Iran's spurning of the IAEA and the peaceful use of atomic power makes
them strange bedfellows with the Russians but it achieves the
apocalyptic ends of Iran's leadership. If we understand that Russia's indirect provocation of Georgia in order
to make it look like a takeover of Georgia is justified correlates well
with Iran's more provocative stance against Israel (wiping them off the
map) which would also provoke action from Israel to make Iran look
justified in wiping Israel off the map as they have declared that they
would. Same plan, different approaches... all based on conquest and not
peace. Never mind one has religious trappings and the other is based in
materialism. Wickedness isn't terribly creative since it always leads
to death.Remember only Armenia and Azerbaijan remain to link them up to Iran.
Watch the news. I'll bet that they'll fall next for "whatever reason"
and line up a war theater that looks a whole lot like setting the stage
for Ezekiel 38. Starving Israel of oil is just the beginning... Mr.Vee
